DATA:
Below is a collection of videos shown in class as examples to show that the line between music and noise blurred.
This is an example of a wave break that used tidal/ wave pressure to create sound by forcing trapped air through small holes. With the right waves it could be musical.
This video shows an art installation that turns wind into sound. Depending on the wind and its direction it could be perceived as musical but most the time its just random tones and pitches with no melody or rhythm.
A guy has created a machine that uses marbles and gravity to hit different instruments to create music. He can program the machine to play different notes and can select which notes or instruments play at what times allowing for the a song to progress.
John cage 4,33" invokes a WTF feeling which is a form of emotion. Art is meant to evoke an emotion.

This video shows a temple that was designed in such a way that if you clap the resulting echo is changed and sounds like a curtain birds chirp. Showing how a structure can change sound in different ways.
In class we were talking about game design and music. This reminded me of a video I watched a while ago and I thought I would add it here.
Fmod is an example of software that can que certain music or sounds depending on different inputs.

Project 3
I found a book on emotional intelligence that should help with project 3.

I've decided to scrap all the ideas I had and I've decided to reuse an old short film I created in high school and fix up the audio/music to try and make it more impactful.
Reflection:
What have I learned this week? This could be related to soft skills or hard skills.
Today we discussed what makes music music and we had to found some examples of structures that create sounds in interesting ways.
What did that involve? Go into more details.
We listened to two structures that take a natural femonman and create sounds from it that could be interpreted as music. We also listened to a song with no sound which was weird and I found a temple that if you clap it changes the echo to sound like a bird chirp.
What feedback have I received this week? How am I going to address it?
It is ok for me to use my old short film for this project.
What challenges did I encounter? How did I/how am I going to address them?
I decided to scrape all my ideas i had for project 3 and I am instead going to reuse an old short film I made in highschool and touch up the audio as I believe it conveys emotion well.
