Why listen to music: 

coping mechanism - stress, excitement - pumped up, emotional connection - film, to impact another medium, escapism, socialise. 

Music does not contain emotion it brings the emotion out of us. It can be made with emotion and passion but it doesn't mean the listener is guaranteed to feel that emotion or passion.

Music tropes used in film: Conventions that are used to convey an emotional response.

The bird you hear at the beginning of every desert scene is a native American eagle regardless of the country its filmed in.

Reflection:

What have I learned this week? This could be related to soft skills or hard skills.

We learnt about emotion and the many different types of them. Along with some examples  of how music can convey different types of emotion.

What did that involve?  Go into more details.

We looked at and discussed the emotion wheel along with some examples of songs with different emotions.
